DoubleYou – a startup focused on safeguarding Apple devices

April 25, 2024
Two seasoned security professionals are launching a startup aimed at assisting other developers of cybersecurity solutions to enhance their capabilities in safeguarding Apple devices.

Named DoubleYou, the startup derives its name from the initials of co-founder Patrick Wardle, accompanied by his partner, Mikhail Sosonkin, who both boast a background cybersecurity and research.

The core concept behind DoubleYou revolves around addressing the shortage of robust security products for macOS and iPhones in comparison to Windows. With the growing popularity of Macs in global corporate environments, malicious actors are increasingly targeting Apple devices.

While the complete lineup of modules remains undecided, DoubleYou plans to offer core functionalities such as analyzing new processes to detect and block untrusted code, monitoring anomalous DNS network traffic, and identifying attempts by software to gain persistent access.
